Hours: Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) Repairer / HGV Technician to join our workshop team. The role involves the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of refuse collection vehicles and other heavy goods vehicles, ensuring the fleet remains safe, roadworthy, and fully compliant with all legal and safety requirements.
This position offers stable weekday hours, flexibility in start and finish times, and the opportunity to work within a professional and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
·Carry out inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on RCVs and HGVs
·Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out associated rectification work
·Perform mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
·Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
·Undertake reactive repairs to minimise vehicle downtime
·Ensure all vehicles meet road worthiness and safety compliance standards
·Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets, and maintenance records
·Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
·Comply with all health & safety and company procedures

Skills & Experience Required
·Proven experience working on HGVs and/or Refuse Collection Vehicles (dust carts)
·Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
·Good understanding of HGV standards and vehicle compliance
·Experience with PPM schedules and reactive maintenance
·Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
·Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
·Good record-keeping and communication skills
