HGV TECHNICIAN
Location: Southampton
Salary: £35,000pa up to £40,000pa + OTE
Working hours:
Monday to Friday 6:00AM – 15:00PM & 13:00PM – 22:00PM + Alternative Saturdays
(Either alternate early and late shifts or permanent nights)
Our client, one of the largest municipal fleet companies is looking to employ an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic due to an ever-expanding work load.
Successful applicants will have experience in heavy vehicle mechanics and will have opportunities to further their career with structured manufacturer, technical training.
The HGV technician / HGV Mechanic role involves:
·Test vehicles and diagnose faults
·Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure
·Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components
·Complete job records
·Order replacement parts
Required for this HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic role:
·Qualified at NVQ level 3 or equivalent (heavy vehicles)
·IRTEC qualification but not essential
·Experienced and able to undertake all aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance and repair to a high standard.
·Have a high regard to producing quality workmanship
·Be able to work in a high paced environment
·Own tool kit
·Current car driving licence (HGV & PSV desirable but not essential)
·Able to write up job cards concisely
