HGV Fitter / Technician / Mechanic
We currently have a vacancy for a HGV Fitter / Technician to join our busy depot inTrafford Park Depot.
Shift Pattern = 4 on 4 off Night Shift
Hours are = 0700pm to 0700am
Salary = £48,000 to £51,000
The Role
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles to VOSA standard
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
- Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer's premises
- Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
- Liaise with parts department to attain parts
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
- Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses
 
Requirements
The core skills and experience required are:
·Appropriate technical qualifications.
·MOT preparation
·Vehicle computer Diagnostics
·Hydraulics
·HGV licence preferable but not essential, fully funded training can be provided for the right candidate
·Excellent understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements and procedures.
·Effective verbal and written skills coupled with strong decision making and problem-
·Solving skills.
·Experience as a mechanic in a commercial vehicle environment.
·Full UK Driving Licence
