HGV Technician

Working Hours of the HGV Technician / Light Commercial Technician / Mechanic / PSV Technician / Technician / Diesel Mechanic: Monday to Friday 42.5 hours per week 07:30 – 17:00

Salary:  £14.00 - £15.00 per hour plus overtime opportunity x1.5

Location: Tonbridge

My client, a successful commercial dealership, are recruiting for an HGV Technician / Light Commercial Technician / Mechanic / PSV Technician / Technician / Diesel Mechanic for their Tonbridge depot.

Key responsibilities for the HGV Technician / Light Commercial Technician / Mechanic / PSV Technician / Technician / Diesel Mechanic include:

• Test vehicles and diagnose faults
• Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure
• Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components
• Complete job records
• Order replacement parts
•  

Essential Qualities for the HGV Technician / Light Commercial Technician / Mechanic / PSV Technician / Technician / Diesel Mechanic:

• Previous experience in mechanics (preferably heavy vehicle)
• Qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair (preferably heavy vehicle) eg City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3, Level 2 also be considered)
• Driving licence (preferably HGV)
• Computer literate
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Team player
• Ability to use own initiative
• Literacy and numeracy skills
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Available for overtime

Desirable Qualities for the HGV Technician / Light Commercial Technician / Mechanic / PSV Technician / Technician / Diesel Mechanic:

• Commercial mechanical experience
