HGV Technician

Location of the HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic / PSV Technician / Mechanic : West Oxfordshire 

Salary of the HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic / PSV Technician / Mechanic: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum DOE

Working hours: 45hrs per week

Motivated and enthusiastic HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic / PSV Technician / Mechanic required for a successful nationwide company based in Berkeley, Gloucestershire.

Job Purpose:


To ensure that all works carried out on a variety of light commercial and HGV are completed to a high standard, within the set time scales and budget, to the customers satisfactions.

Key Skill/ Experience of the HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic / PSV Technician / Mechanic :


Diagnostic skills with experience of working with HGV vehicles in a busy mechanical environment
Servicing mechanical repairs
Good communication skills
Ability to work well in a team
Good time keeping
Great knowledge of motor vehicles engineering
Full UK driving licence and HGV 1

The successful application will have a can do, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.

This a varied role working on a wide range of vehicles and specialist fleet, where employees receive a wide range of benefits including a company profit share of up to £2000 per year, plus overtime at higher rates.

Key Accountabilities of the HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic / PSV Technician / Mechanic :

·Carry out specified works to a range of HGV vehicles in a safe and timely manner
·Diagnose and apply the relevant mechanical repairs
·Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
·Road testing the vehicles to check the repairs work
·Deal with unscheduled repairs and checks as they arise
·Fitting and servicing accessories like radios and alarms
·Service the vehicles and maintain service records sheets
·Ensure workshop equipment is used within safety guidelines and all equipment is cleaned and returned to base after use.

·To undertake any other relevant duties that may be delegated by the Workshop Supervisor and the Workshop Controller.

Health and Safety:


Ensure all Company rules pertaining to Health and Safety are adhered to, including
COSHH, LOLER and PUWER Regulations.

At all times be responsible for the safety of yourself, other workshop staff and visitors, in
and around the immediate area of the workshop and at our customers sites.

This role will require you to work from heights.


Qualifications:


City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 mechanical Engineering
