HGV Fitter job details
Basic Salary: £38,329pa
Working Hours: Monday-Friday/45 Hours Per Week
Location: Gateshead

Responsibilities of a HGV Fitter
·Wash all vehicles to expected standards of cleanliness for service and MOT.
·Examine, report and identify worn or dangerous items when washing vehicles.
·Assist workshop technicians with any required tasks, ensure good housekeeping of the site.
·Collect and deliver vehicles when required and collect parts from suppliers.
·Maintenance and repair of waste handling equipment, including electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
·Carry out scheduled service and inspections to meet company Operators licence commitments
·Complete service and repair documentation and records in accordance with company requirements and standards
·Overhaul of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other workshop equipment
·Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, both electronically and paper based
·To carry out any other reasonable job-related tasks.
·To work and liaise with the other tenants of the workshop to ensure best practice is adhered to.

Skills and Qualifications of a HGV Fitter
·Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified fitter) or proven experience repairing & maintaining HGV vehicles
·Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
·MOT preparation experience is advantageous
·HGV, PSV or Plant Experience
·Effective verbal and written skills coupled with strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
