FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Salary – £38,000pa - £42,000pa depending on experience
Working Hours – Flexible Hours, 9 hours per day between 06:00 - 18:00
Location – Oxford Whitney area
Our client requires an experienced Field Service Engineer / Mobile HGV Technician to carry out works on variety of light commercial and HGV vehicles directly for their customers on their premises and at the roadside are completed to a high standard, safely, within the set time scales, budget and to the customers satisfactions.
Responsibilities of a Field Service Engineer / Mobile HGV Technician
·Attending breakdowns at customer’s sites and roadside.
·Contract servicing at customer sites
·Must be able to work without supervision, managing own workload and providing a high level of customer care.
·Must be a good problem solver, fault finder and must be able to consult with customers to enable them to get the best from their vehicle
·This position assumes a key role by being the front line assisting our customers
·Documents all repairs, inspections, maintenance, service work, and submits paperwork in a timely basis.
·Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
·To carry out all duties in a professional and courteous manner whilst promoting an interest in the company at all times.
·Must possess a strong safety mind-set to assure the work completed reflects the technical requirements within industry safety standards
·Must have strong customer service skills and have the ability to interact confidently with customers and be able to provide training on the body and chassis equipment.
·Travel within the UK, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
·To undertake any other relevant duties that may be delegated by the RVS Operations Manager.
Skills and Qualifications of a Field Service Engineer / Mobile HGV Technician
·Be able to work from heights
·To have extensive knowledge of auto-electrics; engines, transmissions, hydraulics and pneumatics and the ability to diagnose faults on HGV trucks
·Clean driving license - HGV preferred
·City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 mechanical Engineering
·Ensure all Company rules pertaining to Health and Safety are adhered to, including COSHH, LOLER and PUWER Regulations.
