Depot Manager
My client, one of the largest National Commercial Truck Hire Companies currently have an opportunity available for a Depot Manager based at their Bristol location.
Your Responsibilities as Depot Manager will include:
·People management and development
·Business development
·Infrastructure management
·Financial and commercial
·Internal and external stakeholder relationships
·Development of QSE policy and process
·Be aware of health and safety compliance within the yard and rental areas
Other Depot Manager Duties:
·Manage, motivate and support the Rental and Service manager
·The Depot Staff: Manage the Rental and Aftersales staff in conjunction with the Rental and Service manager. Mentor and develop the depot’s staff. Ensure all employees are supported with strong and effective line management. Create a people culture that exudes GTH’s principal of a ‘can do’ attitude. Conduct annual reviews with all staff. Ensure compliance with all HR policies. Ensure the depot remains effectively resourced at all times
·The site: Maintain the site standards and manage the cleanliness, site parking and signage. Oversee the security of the site. Formulate a plan to achieve on-going improvements. Work very closely with the Health and Safety supervisor to maintain the required level of care and standards
·Staff training: Maintain accurate records of all staff to ensure that the required training in all areas can be planned and thereafter executed to improve efficiency
·Financial results:Understand and thereafter plan to achieve, the Depot's Financial requirements in terms of Profitability, month on month.Share the Financial information with your Rental and Service manager. Take actions to mitigate any losses. Understand areas of profit and how to develop them further
·Customer relationship: All customers are very important to the business and should be dealt with in a courteous manner. Response to customers request on a timely basis is absolutely essential and all records must be maintained where ever possible. Promote wider capabilities to clients and the industry in general. Meet with local/regional customers for relationship building, business development and delivery.
·Process and procedures:Follow all the agreed company process and procedures to carry out your daily administrative duties. Ensure that your staff understand the process and the procedures and are very clear with regards to the company policies and minimum requirements
·Monthly Depot review meetings:Attend all the Monthly Depot review meetings with the Directors. Ensure that the Rental and Service managers attend the review meetings and are well prepared to participate in the discussion on previous month financial results and other business issues.
·Vehicle disposal:Support the sales of used vehicles in terms of preparation and presentation to achieve the best value and the volumes required
·Continuous improvements: Formulate an on-going plan to oversee changes and improvement within the business to enhance customer service and profitability.Embracing the required changes as they occur and maximise on your and the team efforts by implementing new ideas.
·Management of costs and expenses:In conjunction with Rental and Service managers, set up regular meeting to review all costs and expenses with a view to implementing changes and achieving savings
·Achieve Monthly Targets/Objectives: As discussed with the Board of Directors, strive to achieve the monthly targets and objectives set relating to areas such as Utilization, Work in Progress, FOC vehicles, compliance of vehicles and profit levels
·Ad hoc duties:Carry out specific duties from time to time as requested by the directors relating to the business

Because of the changing nature of our business and its structure, your job description as Depot Manager will inevitably change. You will from time to time be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by the Directors.

As Depot Manager your role will be responsible for the entirety of the Bristol Depot which includes but not limited to P&L, fleet utilisation (850 vehicles), sales, Health and Safety, recruitment, service levels and compliance.

The ideal Depot Manager will have management experience within the rental industry but at very least within the transport / truck / municipal or haulage sector.

The salary is NEGOTIABLE for this Depot Manager role and a company car is included.
