Assembly Line Manager

Location: Cullompton
Salary: £31,000 to £35,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:30 with an early finish on Friday / Occasional Saturdays when required by the business
There is overtime available at time and a half, and all Saturdays are paid at time and a half for this role.

Our local engineering client are looking for a Assembly Line Manager / Engineering Manager / Production Supervisor to join their team due to steady growth.

Working with a number of high profile commercial vehicle customers, the main purpose of the business is to manufacture and assemble a wide range of vehicle modifications onto vans, bespoke to customer specifications.

Assembly Line Manager / Engineering Manager / Production Supervisor Duties:

·To oversee the sub-assembly and assembly processes for all vehicles, working to production deadlines
·To allocate work amongst the team
·To pro-actively work to address manufacturing issues and improve processes where possible
·To liaise with purchasing to ensure all materials are up to specification and are supplied in a timely manner
·To oversee Line Managers within their sections
·To work with the design team and production engineers to resolve problems within manufacture
·To expedite work where needed and communicate any issues
·To lead, motivate and develop the engineering team

Production Manager / Line Manager / Engineering Manager / Production Supervisor Skills /
Experience:

·A knowledge of machining / welding and fabrication / fibreglass moulding
·Management experience working in an engineering / production environment
·Good man management skills
·Knowledge of LEAN principles would be a distinct benefit for this role
·An interest or knowledge of vehicle manufacture/assembly or modification would be a benefit
·A people person with a proactive approach to problem solving
·A good communicator
·Ability to work to deadlines
