24 HOUR HGV SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Salary – £30,000pa + £30 per call out fee
Working Hours – 46 per week 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Weekend rota on call: week on, week off
Location - West Sussex

Motivated and Enthusiastic HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic required for a successful workshop.

Responsibilities of a HGV Technician

·Carry out inspection, maintenance, repair and installation of components.
·Understand and diagnose faulty components and recommend course of action.
·Ensure all paperwork is well documented on the job card to ensure accurate billing to customer.
·That additional work is reported to Service Reception and authority is obtained before work is commenced and reporting any additional work which cannot be carried out.
·Ensure that the correct components are requested from the Parts Department and in sufficient time for the job to be carried out.
·Road test vehicles when required and ensure work has been fully completed and will pass quality assurance checks.
·To support the Service Advisor as necessary with technical expertise in explaining to customer work carried out on his vehicle.
·For tools and equipment to be maintained in proper working order. Report faulty equipment and remove from workshop.
·Advise and train technicians and apprentices as and when required by the Department.


Skills and Qualifications of a HGV Technician

·Level 3 / City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
·HGV licence is an advantage
·Diagnostic experience
