Monday to Friday  07:00 am to 17:00 pm
Alternate Saturday Mornings 7:00 am to 12:00 pm

NB - It is essential that you have in-depth knowledge of the commercial rental industry to apply for this role


My client is an industry leading commercial vehicle supplier that provides both self-drive rental and sales of LGV and HGV's. Short term and contract truck rental are their core business, with a significant portion of their fleet being Heavy Goods Vehicles.

They are looking for a forward-thinking person from a technical maintenance HGV/Plant background that has experience of controlling a busy Workshop to oversee and manage the daily activities of our Workshop 

The Workshop Manager needs:
·To be focused on efficiencies
·To adhere to H&S procedures
·To keep the HGV technicians focused and productive at all times whilst leading by example.  
·We would also like you to hold a full UK driving licence (and HGV licence preferably but not essentially). Ideally you will already have a good knowledge of the markets we operate in.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Workshop Manager:

·Day to day house-keeping and health and safety
·Booking MOT slots and arranging vehicles into the workshop for MOT preparation
·Checking all invoices for correct payments and discounts
·Ensuring company documentation relating to service/repair reporting is completed correctly and on time
·Booking-out depot-based vehicles into the dealer for overnight inspections
·Chasing dealers for inspection paperwork to ensure all customer paperwork is compliant
·Ensuring sufficient stock levels
·Follow company HR/employment procedures, including the recruitment of staff, inducting new staff effectively and dealing with performance issues when required
