HGV Workshop Manager
Leeds, England.
Description
I am on the lookout for a Workshop Manager at our Leeds workshop. Managing the Maintenance and Repair of a fleet of Commercial vehicles and equipment consisting of various makes, models, and types, ranging from car derived vans to 44t Artic Units and trailers.
 
A quick look at the role.
·Managing and organising the maintenance and repair of a fleet of Commercial vehicles to meet current legislations, health & safety and DVSA standards.
·Schedule inspections and services to ensure compliance with the company's operator license(s) and DVSA regulations.
·Organise service and repair documentation and any/all other maintenance documentation in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
·Ensure effective fault diagnosis by the Workshop team and subsequent rectification of defects including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical.
·Monitor the maintenance of housekeeping across all sections of the workshop and that it remains compliant with company and statutory requirements.
·Frontline people management responsibilities including performance and absence management.
·Overall responsibility for the Workshop performance and service levels.
·In charge of building and maintaining relationships with the operational depot/s linked to the Workshop
·Specialist technical knowledge and HGV experience would be advantageous.
Requirements
Here's what we require:
·Previous experience of servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to meet current legislative requirements.
·Previous experience of maintaining and repairing equipment, including electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
·Previous experience of completing service and repair documentation and records to meet required standards.
·Excellent understanding of vehicle and body electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
·Up to date knowledge of basic H&S legislation and practice and DVSA requirements
