Shifts:
Monday - Friday 18:00 – 06:00
1 in 2 Saturdays 08:00 - 12:00

My client is a commercial vehicle rental supplier and due to growth, they are looking for a Workshop Controller / HGV Technician to join them. The role is a spilt role. 70% workshop and 30% office based.

The Workshop Controller / HGV Technician role involves:

·Planning the daily workload of the workshop office & drivers to ensure customer requirements are met.
·Possessing the skills to be organised and the ability to engage and motivate people and manage the day to day tasks.
·Maintain progress information of each job allocated & liaise with Technicians and the Service Controller to ensure customers are kept informed
·Ensuring that parts are available for the work at the correct time, keeping ahead of outstanding work & parts on order
·Ensure all applicable paperwork is passed onto the Service Department
·Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times whilst also motivating your team whilst having the drive to help motivate others to exceed targets and deadlines
·In addition to managing the workshop, this candidate must also be able to work productively to assist in exceeding targets and deadlines

Essential for this Workshop Controller / HGV Technician:

·Previous workshop management / workshop controller experience advantageous
·Must be able to demonstrate leadership and identify problems within the workshop and understand how to fix them

Must have experience/qualifications as a HGV technician

·Understanding of health and safety - always adhering to company standards
·Must have a “can do” attitude with the ability to prioritise / organise work to ensure the workshop runs smoothly
·Strong communication is essential - you must be able to give quick solutions to any issues

Must be driven and task orientated
