QUALIFIED VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Contractor / Ltd Rate up to £14ph

On Going Contract

Location: Gloucester

We currently have an opportunity for a fully qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our busy car workshop. This role will involve carrying out diagnostic work and inspections, servicing and repairs to vehicles while completing road tests and signing off all the necessary warranty repairs.

VEHICLE TECHNICIAN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·Carry out work as agreed with the customer via the repair orders, within a reasonable time.
·Must work to first time fix principles and be aware of the responsibility to rectify poor workmanship.
·Must be aware of and comply with all legal aspects relating both to maintenance and repair of motor vehicles plus Health and Safety at Work.
·Work to the highest quality standards expected in a workshop, including the approach to and execution of work, tidiness or working area and care in the handling of all vehicles, equipment, diagnostic tools and technical information systems.
·Record work done, time taken and advise on additional work required to customers' vehicles.
·Carry out warranty repairs as directed, returning displaced material to correct location and in correct condition.
·Attend training activities (in-dealer or Manufacturer) as directed, to gain new knowledge and skills and also to ensure knowledge is up to date to meet with latest developments.
·As a Skilled Technician, act as adviser on diagnostic matters to both colleagues and customers as necessary.
·To make full use of special tools and electronic service test equipment to improve customer service levels and workshop efficiency.
·To comply with all the Quality Standards agreed within the Company and to have personal responsibilities

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

·NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
·Main dealership experience preferred
·Take responsibility for the quality and quantity of their work
·Experience and competency in the accurate use of IT equipment
·Self-motivation and enthusiasm

The successful candidate must also be organised and punctual with a drive to succeed, ensuring maximum efficiency and utilisation of time.
