Plant Technician Engineer Slough



I am currently looking to recruit some experienced Plant / HGV technicians for a leading waste management company in slough




Job Purpose:
To ensure that all works carried out on a variety of high pressure jetting & vacuum vehicles are completed to a high standard, within the set time scales and budget, to the customer’s satisfactions.


Key Accountabilities:


1.Carry out specified works to a range of high pressure jetting and vacuum vehicles in a safe and timely manner
2.Diagnose and apply the relevant mechanical & electrical repairs
3.Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
4.Testing the vehicles to check the repairs work
5.Deal with unscheduled repairs and checks as they arise
6.Fitting and servicing accessories like radios and alarms
7.Service the vehicles and maintain service records sheets
8.Ensure workshop equipment is used within safety guidelines and all equipment is cleaned and returned to base after use.
9.To undertake any other relevant duties that is within the scope of the role as requested by the Workshop Foreman


Health and Safety:
Ensure all Company rules pertaining to Health and Safety are adhered to, including
COSHH, LOLER and PUWER Regulations.
At all times be responsible for the safety of yourself, other employees and visitors to the work place.
This role will require you to work from heights.

Qualifications:
City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 and above in any of the following:
Mechanical engineering
Hydraulic systems
Electrical engineering


Key Skill/ Experience:
·Diagnostic skills with experience of working with plant machinery in a busy mechanical environment
·Servicing mechanical and electrical repairs
·Excellent communication skills
·Takes pride in their work and wants to complete each task to a high standard
·Works in a safe and professional manner
·Ability to work well in a team
·Good time keeping
·Proactive and enthusiastic attitude
·Good knowledge of health and safety
·Full clean driving licence for commercial vehicles (Category C licence would be an advantage but not essential.)
