HGV/LGV TECHNICIAN

Location: Cheltenham
Salary: £38,000pa

Working hours:
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6am to 4.30pm, plus Saturday morning, 6am to 11.30am 
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm

My client is the UK’s largest independent building and block paving manufacturer with nine manufacturing plants around the country. They supply a comprehensive range of over 1000 concrete products for House Building, Commercial and Industrial construction in both the public and private sectors.

Large goods vehicle experience is essential and ideally you'll be qualified or semi-skilled (C&G HGV parts 1, 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or relevant experience). It would be great if you have an LGV licence and knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, but it's not essential and we'll always train the right people.

The HGV/LGV technician role involves:

·Repairing company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current legislation.
·Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards.
·Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspection.
·Diagnosis of vehicles using computer based diagnostic equipment.
·Carry out re-chassis work and light fabrication work.
·Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements.
·Ensure all paperwork is completed to a high standard.
·Utilise all Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
·To communicate effectively with the Workshop Manager

Required for this HGV/LGV Technician role:

·Level 3 or equivalent  
·Class 1 or 2 licence
·Trailer experience
·Diagnostic experience
