Shift Pattern

Monday – Friday Early Shift 06.00 - 14.30
Monday – Thursday Late Shift 13.30 – 22.00
Friday 11.30 - 20.00
Saturday 06.00 - 12.00

My client is one of the most respected names in commercial vehicles anywhere in the UK.

They have a rock-solid reputation for looking after customers that stretches back more than 40 years. With roots as an independent service outlet and with seven dealerships right across the north, west to east, they are now one of the largest independent commercial vehicle dealer groups anywhere in Europe.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the main job function will be to undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles/trailers of all types, to diagnose faults, carry out tests on vehicles and effect permanent and complete repairs.

The role of the HGV Technician:

·Completing paperwork and procedures relating to warranty, contract & retail work
·Preventative maintenance work to minimise unnecessary customer costs
·Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by their Manager
·Full service, repair and maintenance of HGV’s, Trucks & Trailers, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles, replacing parts as when necessary in line with company and legislative requirements.
·Pre-MOT Prep and inspection.


The successful HGV Technician will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

·Obtained a City & Guilds or other adequate qualification
·Experience in the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of vehicles;
·Organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail;
·Undertaken manufacturers training courses and maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data
·Full and current UK driving licence, an HGV licence is essential;
·A friendly, confident and professional manner with excellent communication skills.
·Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on their own initiative
