Monday to Friday days
 
Salary of the HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter :  
£30,000pa - £35,000pa + overtime  
 
Location of the HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter :
Workshop based - Merseyside
 
 
My client, a successful specialist in Excavation and plant are recruiting for an HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter for their business.
 
The role will be working on HGV and Construction related plant so someone with HGV and plant experience would be ideal
 
Key responsibilities for the HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter :
 
·Test vehicles and plant machinery and diagnose faults
·Work on HGV's and Construction related plant
·Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure
·Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components
·Complete job records
·Order replacement parts
·Leave and attend breakdowns at short notice
·Ability to listen
 
 
Essential Qualities for the HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter:
 
·Previous experience in mechanics (Heavy vehicle, plant and agriculture)
·Strong experience in electrics over hydraulics
·Ability to leave and attend a breakdown at short notice
·Qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair (preferably heavy vehicle) eg City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3, Level 2 also be considered)
·Driving licence (preferably HGV)
·Computer literate
·Ability to work well under pressure
·Team player
·Ability to use own initiative
·Attention to detail
·Problem solving skills
·Available for overtime
 
 
Desirable Qualities for the HGV Technician / Plant Fitter / Workshop Fitter :
·Commercial mechanical experience - working on HGV and construction related plant
·Please note successful candidates will be required to possess their own tools.
