Group Fleet & Plant Services Manager

My client, a well established Engineering & Utility company is looking for an experienced Group Fleet & Plant Manager to join their successful team in the West Midlands.

The Group Fleet & Plant Services Manager / Group Fleet / Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the companies Fleet and Plant Operations are run with efficiency and in line with Health & Safety. The successful
Group Fleet & Plant Services Manager / Group Fleet / Plant Manager would be involved with the following divisions:

·Civil Engineering
·Traffic Management
·Plant Operations

This is a new position to this company and one that requires specific responsibilities and tasks:

·Manage the overall vehicle and plant inspection programme to agreed frequencies, ensuring all required works are carried out and accurate records are maintained
·Plan and manage preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance of all items of plant/fleet to maximize lifespan and meet required Health and Safety standards
·Proactively manage the Plant / Fleet supply chain ensuring timely supply, replacement, disposal, off contract hire are actioned appropriately
·Analyse current Plant / Fleet systems and processes and make recommendations to improve performance and efficiency
·Manage unplanned work resulting from breakdowns and emergencies in an efficient manner, prioritising as required to deliver 24 hours call out services
·Manage the O Licence requirements for the Group in accordance with the Highways Commissioner
·Identify potential saving and/or money making opportunities within the Group, e.g., improving profitability
·Ensure robust stock control processes are in place for the ordering, storage and issue of garage parts

The ideal Group Fleet & Plant Services Manager / Group Fleet / Plant Manager will require the following skills:

·3 to 4 years relevant experience in Fleet and/or Plant operations management
·Civil engineering / utilities sector preferred
·Analytical with excellent attention to detail
·CPC management qualification desired

The ideal Group Fleet & Plant Services Manager / Group Fleet / Plant Manager could expect the following package:

Company Car
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum(depending on experience)
Sociable working hours - Monday to Friday 07:00 - 17:00
28 Days holiday including bank holidays
