Fleet Operations Manager

Location: Based from home and attending Various Locations

Salary: £50,000+ / Company Car / Shareholders bonus

My client, a leading Contract Hire & Fleet Management Company is looking to recruit an experienced and customer focused Fleet Operations Manager to cover their contracts in the South.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

·To be responsible for the day-to-day management of all contracts and workshop matters as required by the Head of Engineering
·To ensure that there are regular review meetings with customers and third-party maintenance providers and suppliers
·To carry out procedural audit reviews of the workshop, staff and third-party maintenance providers to ensure compliance is being maintained as part of their visits to site.
·To perform their duties in a professional, proactive manner. Optimising vehicle availability, minimising maintenance spend with a primary objective of legislative compliance.
·To ensure that all contracts and workshops are run in a productive, always cost effective and fully compliance manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·Responsible for management of multi-skilled technicians across multiple workshops throughout the UK.
·Ensure all sites and employees are Health and Safety compliant and meet with company and legislative requirements.
·The management responsibilities will include but is not limited to recruitment, inductions, ongoing monitoring, holiday management and training.
·Fully responsible for overseeing the maintenance in line with manufacturers recommendations, legislation and contractual obligations.

This will include but is not limited to: -

1.Management of vehicle repairs and servicing to ensure servicing to ensure that they are carried out cost effectively, both internally and sub contracted.
2.Maximise the vehicle availability to the customer
3.Ensure workshop paperwork and processes are completed to the highest of standards on a timely basis.
4.Working to agreed budgets and given targets to specific timeframes.
5.KPI Reporting

·Negotiate, monitor, measure and recommend third party suppliers to support the in-house maintenance facilities in ensuring the contractual requirements for the customer are delivered.
·Liaising with customer to build and keep relationships, ensuring the requirements of the customer are in line with the contracts and the workshop can support the requirements. Maximising customer satisfaction.
·To ensure the fleet management system is used in accordance with company and legal requirements, which further enable accurate reporting and financial cost control.
·To oversee the management of multiple rental locations ensuring compliance and customer related queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
·To ensure rental vehicle availability is maximised to ensure company targets are achieved
·Responsible for monitoring and management of maintenance and equipment spend, dealing with supplier invoice dispute and resolution.

Essential Skills
·Have a recognised vehicle engineering qualification i.e. City & Guilds
·Hold a Certificate of Professional competence (CPC) National
·Hold membership of IRTE or for a similar organisation.
·Ability to effectively implement and control Health and Safety management in all workshop operations
·Presentable, proactive person with the ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner focused on seeking to resolve any problems.
·Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in management of multi site workshops
·An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·Ability to influence change at all levels
·Excellent organization skills, with high levels of attention to detail with ability to multi task and prioritise deadlines.
·A full clean driving license.
The ideal candidate will have a Municipal background and be a team player who is motivated and eager to progress.
