Commercial Panel Beater

Location: Atherton
Salary: £11 up to £13 per hour dependant on experience + OT

Working hours:
Monday to Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm (some Saturdays required)

Our client is currently looking for an HGV Panel Beater / Commercial Vehicle Panel Beater / Panel Beater to join their busy Commercial Vehicle Body shop in Atherton.

You will be repairing damaged commercial vehicles in line with the manufacturer’s specifications, utilising modern equipment and techniques. You will be expected to carry out warranty, transit damage and used commercial vehicle and van repairs using factory approved products and techniques.
You will also need to know and be aware of the products whilst following the correct repair techniques.

Essential Skills & Qualifications for HGV Panel Beater / Commercial Vehicle Panel Beater / Panel Beater role:
(Tasks will be including repairs to body panels; fabrication works and welding. The ability to carry out strip / fitting is essential)

• Body Repairs (Panel beating / panel pulling / body filling)
• Fabrication (Modify trailers / rigid body repairs / builds)
• Strip/fit (Remove & refit panels / doors / wings and associated components)
• Efficient and conscientious worker
• Abilities or qualification in welding (MIG) essential.
• Carry out chassis jig repairs.
• Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed to a high standard.
• Utilise all Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
• To communicate effectively with the Workshop Manager
• Duties to include the use of hand tools, pistol drills, riveters, MIG welders, and Oxy - Acetylene torches.
• Ideally have full clean licence but not essential.

Alongside the above roles you will be required to get involved with other aspects of the repairs as required including general workshop duties.
